January- mid March is spawning season and the most exciting time to visit the Don Clausen Hatchery.
Adult steelhead will be making their way up the fish ladder and into the hatchery!
Students will be able to witness this incredible event as California Department of Fish & Wildlife staff select adults for spawning and complete the roe fertilization process. (Recommended for 4th grade & up.)

Classes participating in the Steelhead in the Classroom program can arrange to do their fish release right at the fish ladder of Dry Creek!
Please indicate on your registration form if you intend to do a fish release.
